Analysis opening of fourth Kind
Titling begins with an image backgroud which suggests that the director wants to jump on straight on to the opening scene.
Camera Movement
Framing of Shot
Close up shot is included focues on the door handle which connotes that the camrea is trying to identify the character's feelings opening the door.Zoom in shot included to identify the characters facial expression which shows the audience she feels scared.
Point of view shot included which highlights that we see the characters subject perspective.
Camera Angles
Low angle shot used when lookin up the stair whichs suggests that she's powerless and feels iscolated. The stairs is seen as powerful because the the camera looks up to it.
mise-en-scène
The characters costume suggests that shes a victim. Low key lighting used in the bedroom scene which highlights that its creating a strong contrast between the brightest and darkest of an image and often creating strong shadows. This highlights that she feels insecure and horrified.
Editing directions
Reverse shot used which represents that the director wants us to identify the characters feelings and facial expression. The opening scene included flash fowards which builds up tension this is because director wants us to examine her unusual visions.Sound techniques
Door handle symbolizes conflict. The main characters unusual visions creat an impact diegitic sound included which higlights that sounds happening on screen. Non-diegetic sound is also included echoe voice over which implies that its building up tension because this tells us that she's having awkward feelings to the background voices.

The story was set in the bedroom which tells us that this room can be seen as vulnerable because of the lighting and the size . Low key lighting used which represents its a horror movie becuase of the darkness and contrast of the atmosphere.

Theirs only one character in this scene which expresses her feelings towards the pyschatrist becuase of her terrifying visions and sounds she seen in the past.
How is the story told? Chronologically or does it switch between present and past? What is the effect?
There two different views in the bedroom scene theres one side where there is the present client expressing her feelings to the psychiatrist and the other side shows you what happened in the past with her unusual visions and sounds appearing out of nowhere.
